A special Evening with Role Model at the troubadour!

It seems almost impossible that a tiny venue with a capacity of 500 could be full of so much energy, but the Troubadour was on such a high last night.

In honor of his latest album release, Maine based singer-songwriter, Role Model performed a “One Night Only” show in West Hollywood.

The venue was full of young faces, anxious to see Kansas Anymore live. As soon as Tucker took the stage the energy in the venue shifted. He quickly captivated the audience opening the show the same way he opened the album with “Writings on The Wall.”

The crowd was absolutely electric, singing every lyric to every song, most of which haven’t even been out for a week yet. This serves as a testament to the type of artist Role Model is.

Being a good artist isn’t just about having platinum songs that go number one, it’s about establishing a connection with your listeners. Tucker creates and strengthens that connection with his fans one show after another.

Everywhere you turn, you could see the happiness in the audience’s faces. You could see their eyes sparkle as the band began playing “Scumbag,”girls dancing and grinning from ear to ear, or the immediate cheering when he brought out Lizzy McAlpine to sing their duet “So Far Gone”.

However, the most magical part of the night had to have been when Tucker admitted to being hesitant about this show. After almost a two year hiatus of performing, he wasn’t sure a show in LA performing a “semi-anti LA” album was the best thing. Eventually his team convinced him and the show was booked.

During the chorus of “The Dinner” the crowd was roaringly loud, it was something I’ve rarely experienced at a concert. Soon enough after that moment Tucker realized booking the show was “the best decision of his life.”

In that moment the entire demeanor of the show changed. Tucker had this new glow to his face, a moment of realization that he belongs on stage. His smile got brighter, his eyes twinkled, seeming as if a weight was finally lifted off his shoulders. It was proof that his music matters, that he matters, that his music has changed lives and inspired many.

Tucker’s stage presence is unmatched to any other artist I’ve seen live. You can tell he genuinely loves his fans, whether it was through small interactions with the crowd, creating bits unique to his shows, or giving out matching “Fangirl” pins and posters to his  fans.

The show ended with a bang, a three song run of his greatest hits “blind,” “forever&more,” and “Deeply Still in Love.” Despite this being the end of the show, the energy was through the roof and when the crowd was the most alive.

Get the Role Model experience first hand as he opens for Gracie Abrams this fall, and be sure to give the album Kansas Anymore a listen!
