Grace Enger and Jake Minch are twenty year old singer songwriters who came together to release their newest song, “Good Stuff” just last night.

Enger has written many hits such as, “The Neighborhood” filled with lyrics that are empathetic and easily understandable for audiences everywhere, eventually getting quite the hold on you. Her powerful vocals accentuate these lyrics, adding weight to the meaningful words she writes.

Minch’s soft falsetto and tasteful vocalization adds to his raw and vulnerable lyricism. Both of these artists have grown so much this past year, with Minch recently opening for Jeremy Zucker and Enger about to hit the road with Laufey on the Bewitched tour.

Together they’ve created the perfect blend of two soft voices that have created a sweet yet haunting melody. I’m at the edge of my seat hearing Enger’s beautiful head voice while waiting for Minch’s to swoop in, eventually developing a euphonic harmony.

Faintly hearing Minch harmonize behind Enger at the end of her first verse creates the perfect transition into his own, constructing a tension that urges you to keep listening until their voices finally consume one another.

The song itself is about wanting to hate a person, but it being almost impossible considering you once loved every part of them. Every time you think about them you somehow brush off anything that could seem bad, leaving nothing but “the good stuff.”

Completely diminishing anything that could have made you remotely upset, because in the end good will always outshine the bad. You can’t blame anyone but yourself for how you perceive them, so in the end the fault lands on the same mind that wants to force this anger, yet continues to reminisce.

These two are extremely gifted and I’m sure fans from both artists are more than excited to have this collaboration in their hands.

Listen to “Good Stuff” on all streaming services and be sure to catch Enger on tour soon and check out both hers and Minch’s previous releases!
