“Maybe the people in the Sixties were right, we shouldn’t play rock and roll,” joked artist Briston Maroney after experiencing slight technical difficulties during his show last week, yet still performing an outstanding set filled with numerous heartfelt moments.

Briston Maroney is an upcoming household name as he continues to spread his presence and profound vocals across the country during his Ultrapure Tour.

As a member of the Indie Folk Rock genre, he brings such high energy to any venue and it was especially felt on March 14 on Hollywood Blvd.

At just 26 years old he recently sold out two shows at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, and I was lucky enough to attend.

Snarls the band opened for Maroney, bringing out amazing energy throughout their entire set.

The harmonies between the lead singer, Chloe White, and bassist, Riley Hall blended extremely well and left me wanting to hear more.

Their last song was “Marbles”, and what initially feels like a waltz abruptly stops and goes right back into their upbeat indie rock sound.

They thanked Maroney for bringing them onto the tour and set up an even more excited crowd for Briston to sweep off their feet.

The crowd had zero hesitation as they yelled back the lyrics to a Maroney classic, “Small Talk.”

He of course included many tracks from his newest album, Ultrapure, such as “Body”, “Breathe”, and “Delaware”.

After having to reschedule a few shows due to feeling under the weather, it was obvious how much pride and loyalty he has towards his fans as he undoubtedly performed as his best self.

The energy that Maroney brings to the stage fills every seat and corner of the venue, and his fans reflect it right back.

He shows off all of his musical talents by taking a seat behind the drums and of course performing his iconic guitar solo in “Fools Gold”.

The set for his tour is just as alluring as his vocals with beautiful blues and metallic characters that fill the stage.

Of course Maroney sang his most popular song, “Freakin’ Out on The Interstate” and the crowd did not disappoint as they echoed back his lyrics, danced, and expressed their overall joy towards such a remarkable song.

You can tell how much Maroney enjoys performing for his fans as he tears up while taking in the sight of the crowd full of people who look to him and his exceptional talent as an artist.

Even after I left the show the happiness that radiated throughout the concert lingered with me as I continued to sing along with his music as it replayed continuously in my head.

Take a chance to listen to his newest album, Ultrapure, and his newest single, “I Told You So” that was released earlier this year.
