Hey There, Lover, We Just Can’t Get Enough of Role Model
If there’s one thing Tucker Pillsbury knows how to do, it’s how to keep his fans “Deeply Still in Love” with him.
The twenty-six-year-old singer-songwriter, better known as Role Model, released his second single for his upcoming sophomore album, Kansas Anywhere. “Deeply Still in Love” follows the release of his lead single, “Oh Gemini.”

Before the single’s release, a snippet of the song went viral on TikTok. This unexpected surge of popularity fueled the anticipation for the song’s release. To add to the excitement for this single, fans have been receiving postcards from Role Model’s PR team. The postcards come with artwork and handwritten lyrics from the corresponding song.
Tucker has been notorious for having catchy beats to songs that make listeners want to get up and dance around their bedroom. His biggest hits, “blind” and “forever and more” fit into this category, and “Deeply Still in Love” will be joining them.
However, beneath the surface of the fun, drum-driven beat lies heartache and lingering emotions that persist when a relationship ends. This is what makes listeners connect with Role Model’s songwriting.
The lyrics of the song hide longing and denial. Tucker expresses the hardship of seeing his old “lover” happy and living without him. Although he truly is content seeing this lover happy, it kills him that they’re not happy alongside him.
The repetition of “in love with you” throughout the chorus emphasizes the struggle of moving on while trying to be proud of the person he loves.
The song has a sort of bittersweet feeling to it, admitting that he is still deeply in love with this person but also recognizing that he needs to accept the situation and move forward.
He confesses that he’s tried moving on and meeting new people, but his heart is not in it; instead, he longs for this relationship that’s been over. “Deeply Still In Love” perfectly represents what it’s like to mourn a relationship while also wanting what’s best for the other person.
Don’t forget to check out Kansas Anywhere on all streaming platforms on July 19. It’s guaranteed to be the album of the summer.
