LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA - It can be difficult to put yourself in the shoes of others, but artists like Sophia Moore make it easy to feel the deepest of emotions through her thoughtful and intense lyrics.
Her words accompanied by her soothing vocals create an emotional rollercoaster that cuts right through your heart strings, yet keeps you wanting more.
She is only 19 years old and has recently released her debut EP “group therapy” that is filled with personal experiences put into beautiful melodies that will definitely bring tears to your eyes.
Her EP title along with the moments shared throughout her songs creates an environment for people to find comfort in their sorrows and learn to grow from them.
Sophia references the passing of her mentor, Mr. Kell and how he made her the musician she is today.
His influence can be heard throughout many of her lyrics, composing a beautiful meaning beneath her outstanding vocals.
“They all say you’re here with me, but I can’t tell, honestly. Sometimes I think I’m forgetting my memories with you,” Sophia sings in her song “when the candles are mine.”
Grief is a difficult topic for anyone to acknowledge, let alone overcome and Sophia is able to portray these overwhelming feelings perfectly.
She leaves room for people to relate to her lyrics while giving her audience the ability to see a glimpse of her life, therefore creating the perfect sense of “Group Therapy.”
Anyone who takes the time to listen to her music will immediately fall in love with the rawness of her voice and writing.
It is almost as if she is standing behind a glass window that allows her audience to view her experiences while having the ability to reflect on their own.
Inspired by artists like Noah Cyrus and the Secret Sisters, “Group Therapy” is out now, and if you are interested in her previous singles, make sure to take the time to listen to “Inside Joke” on any streaming platform, or taking a second to watch her music video down below!
