From her early years in Mississippi, Caroline Romano has been a beacon of talent, captivating hearts with her music.
At age 15, she unveiled her first single, “Masterpiece,” Fast forward seven years, and she has graced us with a plethora of songs, some of which have even found their place on the prestigious Billboard Dance Chart.
Her latest release, “Doesn’t Matter,” might be one of her best songs.
“Doesn’t Matter” delves into the complexities of falling deeply for someone despite the inevitable heartbreak that looms. Romano’s poignant lyrics suggest that even in the face of such pain, the experience of love might still be worth it, a sentiment that resonates with many.
With lyrics like “Turn me on like a radio,” constantly repeated throughout the song, we can see the yearning for connection and closeness.
The song heavily relies on percussion and synth beats. In some way, the percussion feels and sounds like a heartbeat.
When dealing with a relationship as complicated as Romano describes, it often feels like your heartbeat is the only thing you can hear. Right before the chorus, the percussion stops for just one second, like when your heart skips a beat.
Through lyricism, the listener can easily picture this relationship as full of uncertainty and doubt.
Starting April 26, Romano will join a Grayscale and Small Pools opening for their co-headlining tour.
